I am so proud to have been able to introduce this charity project. This project idea began with no official name in 2018 as an opportunity to engage the youth in my small community by encouraging them to adopt and raise money for the charities of their choice. We started with just a small group of kids from my daughter, Rebecca’s elementary school, and together they chose the ceramic product that they wanted to create in the studio. They chose to create holiday ornaments, and then they agreed upon the price point at which to sell their works. Individually, the kids all researched and chose the charities that they wanted to support. They wrote their own pitches to raise awareness for their selected charities and stated their purpose for selling their ornaments. With the help of family, they began their marketing campaigns, and once the ornaments were ready, they were sold. And boy did they sell! The project was a great success! Once all funds were received, we made a day of traveling together to all of the locally selected charities to deliver checks.

After the success of the first year’s project, the number of kids who wanted to be involved in 2019 grew incredibly, and Yousung Choi Fine Art Pottery was blessed to receive sponsorship for the project by Shahnti Aesthetic Medicine and Harvest Symphony, two small businesses that are owned and operated here in Western Loudoun County, Virginia. I was also blessed by Rami Hyun and Yeom Hyuncheol, who each lent their own artistry to this project through their incredible photography and cinematography, respectively.

Once again, I am so proud to have been able to continue this youth charity project into 2019 and to see it grow. I’m also extremely proud to have given it the name, Shaping the World, because that is exactly what it has done for each of these young ladies. Through their efforts, and your generosity, this little project was able to raise over $4000 in support of various charities that have become very dear to these girl’s hearts. Thank you.
