2020 "Shaping the World" Youth Charity Project
This is our 3rd year doing this project, and it was definitely the most challenging. The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on our process. However, despite social distancing, wearing masks, and sanitizing everything all the time, I am proud to say that we had more participants (and more beautiful work) than any of the previous years. Perhaps because of COVID, the youth in my small community were better able to recognize the importance of charity. Once again, they chose to create holiday ornaments, agreed upon the price point, and individually researched the charities that they wanted to support.
This project has truly become a family affair for all involved, and we are now ready to market this year’s ornaments. As in the past, these participants will be delivering all funds received to their selected charities, upon completion of all sales.

I couldn’t be more proud to have been able to continue the Shaping the World youth charity project into 2020 and to see it grow. Through the combined efforts of these wonderful kids and your generosity, this little project was able to raise over $4000 last year in support of various charities, and is on track to surpass that in 2020, in spite of the challenges that the year has presented.
